I’m so tired of pasta. Every week, it’s the same old thing: Mac and cheese, baked ziti, spaghetti and meatballs. What should I do to make things more interesting?
Bring out the Magic
Making dinner is a lot like making love. You’re involved. You’re into it. You know, most of the time. Or every once in a while. Other times it’s all about making it quick so you don’t miss something important. Like Duck Dynasty. Or the game. It’s like batter up, running past second…Homerun! Just in time for the next inning. Plus, you get to check something off the To Do list. Score!
The fact of the matter is that no matter what you serve, you’ve got to eat. Like every single day. People are annoying like that. So, when making dinner (and in other parts of your life), you have to move out of your comfort zone. Sure, pasta is the easiest grab and go dinner of choice. It’s the quintessential girl next door. Cute, sweet, nice. Easily accessible. But easy isn’t always what’s best for you.
So when you go to the grocery store, put yourself out there. Don’t settle for pasta. Experiment. Go wild down the vegetable aisle, you naughty, naughty girl. And when you want the taste of something familiar, you can always throw alphabet noodles into your heated spicy soup. They fill a void, but they’re not all that. You’ve moved on. You’re different now. Things just aren’t the same. But you can still be friends.
You’ll still call, right?
